International festival of photography “Volzhskoe biennale” was founded by State Russian museum of photography as a part of Federal program “Culture of Russia” with support of Ministry of culture of Nizhegorodskaya oblast. Starting from 2005 Nizhny Novgorod is a capital of annual contest “Young photographers of Russia” for professionals and amateurs aged from 16 to 30. There are two nominations: press photo and art photo.
